Each bar we make begins with simple ingredients. All of our bars will contain a base of natural ingredients such as Olive oil, Coconut oil, lard, castor oil, sunflower oil. We avoid making products that require intense emulsifiers or preservatives.  

We are transparent about every ingredient on every product label.

We source our goat's milk from a local farm., visiting each week to ensure herd health and sanitation. Fun fact, the milk we source is expressed by hand with care, not with painful machines.

The milk is stored properly and carried back to our farm where we then follow careful preservation methods to ensure the beneficial properties in the milk are preserved using sanitary methods for each batch of soap we make.

There is much to debate about the use of synthetic fragrances and essential oils. At Sipsey Creek Soap Co, we use a little of both. 

If we want to create a bar with specific properties, we will use ethically sourced essential oils.

 For fragrance alone however, we choose to use skin-safe phthalate-free synthetic oils. and here's why:

-We feel, that just because an oil is natural, that does not mean it will not cause a reaction. Essential oils used in amounts required for soap fragrance can be quite potent and cause skin reactions. Fragrance oils were formulated to be gentler than essential oils in many cases. 

We do not take fragrance responsibility lightly. We will always ensure we are using the safest fragrances available, and our usage rates are well below what is recommended.

We use cosmetic grade mica powders for color. These are the same micas used in makeup, but in lower concentrations. This allows us to create the beautiful swirls and colors in our soap.
